Nymera is one of the two playable Vaultbreakers in the public Demo and was made the starting Vaultbreaker in the July 2026 notes. Learn her by separating movement, resource pickups, safe basic pressure, and the commitment of Emerald Barrage. The exact numbers have changed across tests, so use the live Demo tooltip whenever it conflicts with an older guide.
Nymera action index
Basic attack
Job: repeatable pressure and information gathering.
Check: range, travel behavior, recovery, and any perk that changes the attack.
Moth Dash
Job: repositioning and a possible attack-speed window.
Check: current direction, distance, cooldown, perk interactions, and whether the destination is actually safe.
Spiritbloom
Job: energy recovery through a pickup named in official notes.
Check: spawn condition, pickup position, current energy value, and whether collecting it exposes you.
Emerald Barrage
Job: committed burst or pressure.
Check: spread, channel behavior, aim limitations, enemy movement, and a safe opening before activation.
Learn Moth Dash as movement first
Treat Moth Dash as a positioning tool before trying to turn every use into damage. In a low-risk encounter, learn its distance, accepted direction, collision behavior, and recovery. Dash to an open side of the fight rather than through an enemy group until you know exactly where Nymera ends. A movement ability that escapes one attack can still place you inside a hazard or beside another patrol.
Official notes changed Moth Dash repeatedly. February introduced it as Nymera’s evasive ability, July increased the base duration of its attack-speed buff, and October moved the effect to an Attack Damage threshold while increasing the cooldown. Those are useful landmarks, but the Demo screen should decide the current threshold and duration for your loadout.
If a perk says it also works with Moth Dash, test the visible result without changing several other pieces at once. Use the same basic attack sequence and a similar target. The goal is to understand what the perk adds, not to produce a permanent damage ranking from one run.
Use Spiritbloom without chasing it blindly
Spiritbloom is tied to energy in official Nymera notes. That makes pickup placement part of the decision. Before moving toward one, check the enemy’s current sequence, the path between Nymera and the pickup, and what waits beyond it. Recovering energy is not valuable if the pickup turns a controlled fight into a surround.
The July notes changed the energy received on pickup and also modified the Circle of Life perk. Do not memorize those older values as the Demo rule. Read the current perk and resource display, then note whether the pickup fills enough energy to change your next action. If not, preserve position and collect it after the immediate threat.
In co-op, tell the party when you are moving for a pickup. A sudden dash across the encounter can pull enemies or break the group’s line. The safest route often follows an already cleared edge rather than crossing the center.
Commit Emerald Barrage to a real opening
Emerald Barrage has received projectile, spread, delay, and channel-related changes across public notes. That history signals a committed ability whose reliability depends on timing and target behavior. Observe the enemy first. Use it when the target is recovering, controlled by a supported effect, occupied with another safe party action, or otherwise unlikely to leave the useful area immediately.
Avoid opening with Emerald Barrage against an unfamiliar enemy if doing so prevents you from reading its first sequence. Begin with basic pressure, keep a retreat lane, and see how the target closes distance. A shorter safe punish may teach more than forcing the largest available action.
The October notes add a little projectile spread and change several Nymera scaling relationships. Compare the live tooltip with the stat screen before assuming Attack Damage or Ability Damage benefits every part of the kit equally. Record the current item, perk, client, and difficulty when a threshold matters.
Choose perks by the problem they solve
Official notes name Polymoth, Explosive Barrage, Circle of Life, Aimed Attack, Sneak Attack, Moth Assault, Moth Inspiration, and Soaring Strike. Their availability and exact text can depend on the current client and unlock state. Use the perk screen to distinguish options you can select now from options merely visible for later.
Choose a perk because it changes a repeated situation. If you are hit while repositioning, study movement and a Moth Dash interaction. If safe enemies consistently leave the basic attack’s useful range, inspect Aimed Attack. If energy flow interrupts the abilities you need, examine Spiritbloom-related choices. Do not select a perk only because an old patch note contains a large number.
Test one route through Wolfswood with a clear objective. Keep the difficulty and core equipment stable, then compare survival, energy availability, and missed openings. One clean comparison is more useful than changing the hero, perk, weapon, and potion together.
Build a practical Demo loadout
Give each equipped tool a job Nymera does not already cover reliably. One slot might provide emergency protection, another wound recovery, another crowd control, and another help with an environmental problem. If two items duplicate the same movement or damage window, ask which one is replaceable and which creates a new weakness.
Check equipment condition before leaving Haven. The extraction loop makes repair, replacement, and recovery part of build quality. A strong item that cannot be replaced after repeated failed runs may be the wrong teaching tool for a first attempt.
In a party, coordinate Nymera’s longer commitments. Let a teammate know when Emerald Barrage or a pickup route reduces your ability to react. In return, use Nymera’s movement to preserve sightlines rather than scattering the group.
Recover from common Nymera mistakes
- Dashing into a second group: aim along a cleared edge and confirm the landing space before using Moth Dash.
- Chasing every Spiritbloom: finish the enemy’s active sequence, then collect when the route is safe.
- Channeling into movement: wait for a recognizable recovery or supported control window before Emerald Barrage.
- Mixing old values with the Demo: use dated patch notes as history and the live tooltip for the current run.
- Assuming range removes risk: keep nearby enemies, terrain, and retreat direction visible.
- Copying an Alpha or PvP build into Demo PvE: confirm every perk and item is available in AppID 4488770.
